General Purpose Moderation Notes (WIP)
NOTE: This is very much a work in progress attempt to collate various disparate pieces of information of use to Redump moderators, with a view to having a more centralised set of guidance in future. It should not be considered fit for purpose for working on live data, and is not at this stage a replacement for any moderation guidance on the main Redump Wiki
Editions
When multiple unlicensed editions exist, or something other than standard, use parenthesis such as: Unlicensed (Limited Edition) to identify the specific edition.
Naming Conventions
Titles
Redump titling predominantly follows The Official No-Intro Convention, with some key variances
Variances
- Transliterated titles (e.g. from Cyrillic alphabets) may follow different capitalisation rules - check the relevant language section for these.
Compilation Discs
Compilation discs with multiple games/titles on them should be recorded in the database separated by the '/' character, unless another character is used on the item.
Korean
The official standard for the transliteration of Korean is the Revised Romanization of Korean system
Useful Resources
Japanese
Foreign titles in Japanese which contain English characters should use the Shift-JIS fullwidth equivalents for these e.g. KOGADOコレクション becomes KOGADOコレクション
Likewise, any spaces in foreign titles in Japanese should use the Shift-JIS wide-space " " e.g. KOGADOコレクション パワードール becomes KOGADOコレクション パワードール
Roman numerals in Japanese titles should be rendered using the following characters Ⅰ Ⅱ Ⅲ Ⅳ Ⅴ Ⅵ Ⅶ Ⅷ Ⅸ Ⅹ

Russian
Russian titles should be transliterated according to the GOST 7.79-2000 standard.
For transliterated Russian titles, only the first letter of the transliterated title is capitalized, and/or Names / first words in sentences. It should effectively follow the capitalization used in the Russian title
Useful Resources
Editions
All editions should be transliterated according to the rules for their respective languages above.
Russian
1C titles should be added with their respective variants as the edition e.g.
- 1C: Igrushki
- 1C: Xoroshie igry'
Note that "1C" should **not** be transliterated according to GOST rules, but that the edition **should** use a latin "C" instead of the Cyrillic character
Offsets
Positive offsets should be rendered as e.g. "+13", not just "13"
