For redump purposes, we recommend blu-ray drives that are compatible with custom firmware that allows them to be compatible for CD-ROM dumping.
In particular these are the half-height LG/ASUS drives with JB8 PCB code, such as the ASUS BW-16D1HT (drives manufactured in 2016 onwards).
For a full list of drives that are likely good for dumping BD-Video and UHD BD-Video for redump, check this list on the MakeMKV forums.
