A list of optical disc drives compatible with dumping GD-ROM discs.

GDs contain two distinctly different "Areas" of data ("LD Area" and "HD Area"), separated by a ring. Both Areas are dumped with a separate process.
LD Area
For dumping the LD Area, the same rules apply as in dumping a CD as they use the same technology. The list of compatible drives for dumping LD Area is here.
HD Area
The HD Area dumping the process is different, and you need one of the drives below:
- HD Area: GD-ROM (Pressed) - Recommended:
- Samsung TSSTCorp models:
- TS-H353A aka SH-D163A
- TS-H352C aka SH-D162C
- Samsung TSSTCorp models:
- HD Area: GD-R (Burned Preproduction) - Working to some at least extent (WARNING: needs significant additional testing):
- Plextor: PX-708A, PX-755A, PX-755SA, PX-4012TA[1]
- For additional research on compatibility, see Optical Disc Drive Compatibility for GD-ROM and GD-R Dumping.
