Unaddressed Requests Made to ir0b0t
From Redump Wiki
The purpose of this section is to track the requests staff has made of ir0b0t regarding improvements / corrections to the system.
- 2019-10-15 - Give moderators the ability to add new accounts.
- As it stands, only admin or above can add new user accounts. Moderators should have this ability as well. There is no reason to keep people waiting.
- Requested again 2021-06-19.
- 2021-06-14 - Unlock "locked" fields in the database such as barcodes / mastering codes.
- This makes it difficult for moderators to correct or add items, because only an admin or ir0b0t can fix it.
- 2021-08-27 - Add a "scans" link field to the database.
- This way, entries can be linked to scans of discs and/or ringcodes, hosted offsite in a reliable place such as Archive.
- 2021-09-13 - Allow dumpers to view and edit their disc submissions.
- Multiple dumpers have told me they don't use the form, because they can't see the details or edit for minor corrections after. Adding this feature would help the mods and dumpers both.
- 2021-09-16 - Add a database field for Alternative Title as well as make it searchable.
- This would be very helpful, especially for foreign titles and discs which have multiple 'valid' titles that should be searchable.
- 2021-09-17 - Add a log attachment option to the new disc form.
- Currently, dumpers have to upload off-site. They should be able to upload logs similar to the forum.
- 2021-09-21 - Add a verification form on the site.
- Dumpers could submit verifications through the site, similar to the way they do for new discs. This would significantly streamline mod processing.
- 2021-09-24 - Add PS5 and newer Xbox systems, even if hidden.
- These entries are currently just building up in the forums (which, by the way, means the data is public atm).
- 2021-10-02 - Change the description "ClrMamePro data" to "DAT" or "Datfile," etc.
- Some users still get confused about what should go here. Even if it is obvious to most, not everyone even knows what ClrMamePro is. We are trying to encourage use of the new disc form. We should make it as straight-forward and clear as possible.
