Xbox and Xbox 360 Internal Titles

This guide is for checking for internal titles of Xbox and Xbox 360 discs.

Tools

  • Xbox Backup Creator
  • Cxbx-Reloaded (for checking original Xbox titles)
  • abgx360 (for checking Xbox 360 titles)

Steps

  • Open Xbox Backup Creator: click on Image Tools -> Image Browser -> Open Image File, then right-click and extract default.xbe (original Xbox). Hybrid Xbox/Xbox 360 discs will also include a default.xex file, which should contain an internal title as well. Xbox 360 discs will contain just the default.xex.
  • For original Xbox (xbe) checking: Open Cxbx-Reloaded: File/Open Xbe... -> Edit/Dump Xbe Info To... (Title identified as " " is the internal title)
  • For Xbox 360 (xex) checking: Open abgx360: add the default.xex file and click "Launch" at the bottom. Output can be changed to Text File. "Game Name" is the internal title.
