Optical Disc Drive Compatibility: GD-ROM

A list of Optical disc drives compatible with dumping GD-ROM discs.

GDs contain two distinctly different "Areas" of data ("LD Area" and "HD Area"), separated by a ring. Both Areas are dumped with a separate process.

For dumping the LD Area, the same rules apply as in dumping a CD as they use the same technology. The list of compatible drives for dumping LD Area is here Optical Disc Drive Compatibility: CD and follow the Disc Dumping Guide (MPF).

The HD Area dumping the process is different, and you need one of the drives below.

HD Area: GD-ROM (Pressed) - Recommended:

HD Area: GD-R (Burned Preproduction) - Working to some at least extent (WARNING: needs significant additional testing):
