The PAL region received a significant amount of region-specific unlicensed cheat discs as well as many unlicensed coverdiscs in different European countries. This list is very incomplete, but is an attempt to list all Sony PlayStation 2 PAL unlicensed discs, both dumped and undumped.

Dumping

PS2 unlicensed discs must be dumped with DIC's /sf flag. Note that some of the discs listed below are actually unlicensed PlayStation 1 format, and can be dumped in DIC without requiring /sf.

Some discs are double-sided (CD cheat disc + DVD-Video). The cheat disc side may be partially covered with a label on the outside edge of the disc and must be dumped with DIC until failure. This may take a very long time. Ejecting the disc (but keeping DIC running) after DIC starts finding errors on every sector will speed up the process. Jackal will manually correct the TOC.

Standalone

Barcodes are sometimes repeated on alternate revisions or even alternate regional releases so are not definitive. Cases without barcodes are not "Standalone", they are pack-ins for magazine releases (unless they came in a larger box with other accessories).

Magazine Coverdiscs & Series

P2 Magazine discs

"P2" magazine (Paragon Publishing) was a UK-based PlayStation 2 focused magazine. It would sometimes include cheat coverdiscs, guide books, or even VHS tapes. Some issues possibly had nothing extra included.

Early issues of the magazine often include a "DVD" logo in the bottom right hand corner of the cover[10], however that does NOT mean it comes with a DVD - it just teases a section of their magazine which discusses DVD releases.

Note: NOT to be confused with PSi2 magazine discs. Even more confusingly, P2 cheat discs ALSO have the PSi2 logo on them, along with the P2 logo.

Magazine Issue # does not match Disc Volume #. Magazine Issue # (sometimes?) on disc case spine.

Early discs have a "P2" on them and may have been bundled with that magazine. "Playable Cheats" series of discs seem to have been distributed in different manners, sometimes with Play magazine, sometimes otherwise.

PlayCodes (France)

PlayCodes is a French magazine.

PlayStation 2 Cheats

This series does not come with a barcode. It is believed to be a pack-in with a cheat book series. The cases say "PlayStation 2 Cheats" and the discs say "Playable Cheats" (not to be confused with the magazine series of the same name).

PSi2 Magazine discs

"PSi2" / "PSi" aka "PlayStation Interactive" magazine included cheat discs with the issues. At least some of the releases included "Xtreme Cheats" discs instead of the "PSi2" branded namesake.

UK

Disc number and magazine issue number should match.

Germany

More info here[52]. Unlike the UK PSi2 series, none of the German PSi2 discs that have been found are double-sided.

Play TV magazine

Play TV aka PLAY magazine was distributed in the UK and Australia. It is likely the Australia content is just a re-release of the UK content - Wikipedia notes a 1 month delay[54]. It is currently unknown what issue Play magazine started and stopped including PS2 unlicensed coverdiscs, later replacing them with DVD-Videos.

The magazine issue number and disc volume number are on the ring codes for at least some of the discs. The magazine issue number is also on the case spine.
